Godchef's preserves are the result of years of experience in the Osteria Antica Marina, a small, hospitable restaurant in Catania's fish market on the east coast of Sicily. With these preserves, the owners of the restaurant, Salvo and Giovanni, have realised their dream of bringing their cuisine – already greatly appreciated by tourists from all around the world – directly into people’s homes.

Salvo Campisi

Born in 1970, Salvo started to work as a dishwasher in order to pay for his technical-industrial studies.

It was while working as a dishwasher that he discovered his passion for the culinary world and also a natural ability as a host which soon took him from serving dishes to directing staff in a famous restaurant in Catania.

It wasn't long before he opened the Osteria Antica Marina, a distinctive restaurant that successfully combined the casual atmosphere of the typical Sicilian tavern with a more refined cuisine and a genuine concern for customer satisfaction. It was so successful that clients soon had to book well in advance!





Giovanni Leonardi

Born in 1976, Giovanni's love of cooking was passed down to him by his grandmother. Even today, he still cherishes his childhood memories of her simple traditional dishes from the Sicilian post-war period, such as the classic fried bread with sugar that she would use to entice the children back into the house when they were playing in the street. From an early age, Giovanni would help his grandmother to prepare the family meals and her special preserves.

Having worked as an assistant cook in a number of different restaurants, he finally found the right place for his talents at the Osteria Antica Marina where he started working as head chef in 1998.
